Personal Experiment
Rol: AI Design
Tools: Midjourney, Runway, ChatGPT, Gemini
Challenge of the tool: Making decisions in option overload.
Challenge of the medium: it needs to be continuously nurtured.
Experiment:
A story to serve as a common thread, but which story to choose, on which to build something meaningful and memorable?
Generative image AI brings us the potential to create new fictions. In fact, one of its potential dangers is to make us confuse fact from fiction. But haven't we always done that throughout history? We have to live with it and learn to live in a world that intertwines imagination with reality.
Liquid world, art in flux, nothing remains. These tools are capable of generating images at a vertiginous rhythm, in great quantity and very fast. A new decision-making capacity emerges alongside these new tools. Each one must establish his or her own, guided by artistic styles, economic opportunities, a history, an imaginary world, search for social contribution, each artist chooses his or her purpose for making decisions.
I experiment with ways of making decisions to drive these tools. The starting point is where to guide my imagination to guide the machine. So, how to make this decision? Go to the point that intertwines imagination and reality, which is? it is not that of a single person but is social and historical.
That is why I have started this adventure in the research of "collective imagination", that is to say, memory and imagination remaining within a given culture. As a result, I obtain narratives, concepts, symbols that I transform into prompts. But not only from the past but also from the present.
To achieve this I research through ChatGPT, Gemini and social networks, then I use Midjourney, Dall-e and Runway.
Creative systems: Creating meaningful images related to current events, such as farmers' demonstrations. From the countryside to government temples.
